Saturdays are for brunching – that’s what Melbournians do.
Whenever we go out to eat, we have to factor in my 2-year-old little munchkin in the mix. We have to consider a spot that cater for babies or toddler. When I say cater, meaning whether the cafe is spacious enough for us to have a meal and in case our little miss to make a bit of mess – which we will clean up after. Although we don’t need high chair most of the time now that little miss is older, we still prefer more spacious cafes then cosy ones.
We decided to try Industry Beans. Located in Fitzroy, it’s one of Melbourne’s specialty coffee roasters. My husband sometimes works around the area, so he’s been wanting to try their coffee. With a selection of sweet and savoury dishes, along with extensive list of alternative coffee brewing methods, you will not be short of choices.
OUR MEALS AND DRINKS
Little miss had her babycino – although she will only finish the chocolate topping and not bother with the rest.
GOLD MESH FINCA HARTMANN, PANAMA
Hubby’s into pour-overs, filters and cold brew/drip these days. He’s a bit of a coffee snob.
CRISPY BEANS AND QUINOA WITH CURED SALMON
COFFEE RUBBED WAGYU BURGER
Little miss loved the crispy black beans and the portion size was decent, considering my hubby was satisfied.
ICE COLD BREW, KAMUCHUNI KENYA AND MWASA RWANDA
At the end of the meal, hubby still wanted coffee and ended up buying the cold brew for take-away. Sigh.
We arrived in the area around 10.30ish am. Car park was a bit tricky – there were off-street 1P and 2P spots on Rose and Fitzroy St but they were all taken and most spaces on Kerr st are permit zone. You can park on brunswick st (ticket) but then you need to walk to reach the cafe. We ended up parking at The Rose Car Park – around $3.00 the first hour.
Total cost: $65
